Avandra joins NSW Public Spaces Charter Network

Joining the network of signatories to the NSW Public Spaces Charter

Avandra has proudly joined the growing network of signatories to the NSW Public Spaces Charter, reinforcing our commitment to designing transport spaces that serve as vibrant, inclusive public places.

Recently founded by Mary Haverland and Nicole Vukic, Avandra has championed from the outset the idea that roads, streets, and transport corridors are not just infrastructure – they are public spaces that shape how communities connect, move, and thrive. This founding vision has driven Avandra’s commitment to integrating Movement and Place principles into transport planning, ensuring that mobility solutions also support vibrant, inclusive places.

“When I established Avandra, becoming a signatory to the NSW Public Spaces Charter was at the top of my to-do list,” Mary said. “It’s not just about adding a logo to our website – it’s about embedding the Charter’s core values and principles into everything we do.”

Last week, Avandra received confirmation of acceptance into the NSW Public Spaces Charter signatory network, which is an exciting milestone that reflects the company’s alignment with the Charter’s vision for inclusive, accessible, and well-designed public spaces. This recognition marks the beginning of Avandra’s formal involvement in the Charter’s Community of Practice, where we will collaborate with other signatories to share knowledge and embed placemaking principles into transport planning.

“We’re excited to contribute to this community and to more formally integrate the Charter’s principles into our projects,” Mary added. “This is a meaningful step forward in our mission to create transport spaces that people love, not just use.”
