From Policy to Pavement: Cycling and Micromobility Webinar

Avandra was delighted to see Director Mary Haverland host a well-received Austroads and CWANZ webinar on cycling and micromobility planning tools on Monday 8 September 2025.

Mary joined Sara Stace (from Vivendi Consulting) to guide attendees through two key resources from the recently published Austroads Cycling and Micromobility Planning Guidance: the updated Cycling Level of Service (CLOS) tool and the All Ages and Abilities (AAA) Facility Selection tool. These tools are designed to support practitioners in planning and designing cycling and micromobility infrastructure so that is safe, inclusive, and fit for purpose.

The session also explored practical approaches to road space reallocation, intersection design, and micromobility integration, offering real-world examples and insights to help practitioners apply the tools with confidence.

Mary thoroughly enjoyed engaging with such a diverse and experienced audience from across the transport and planning sectors. The interactive discussion highlighted the growing appetite for practical, evidence-based approaches to improving cycling and micromobility outcomes across Australia and New Zealand.

Avandra is proud to contribute to the advancement of active transport planning and to support the use of tools that help create safer, more accessible streets for all.
